Type I neuroblasts in homozygous clones in larval brains retain their functional identity (as assayed by expression of cell fate markers). However, mutant type II neuroblasts in the homozygous clones adopt a type I neuroblast identity and directly generate ganglion mother cells.

Many germ cells are able to coalesce along with gonadal mesoderm to form a gonad; however, some germ cells are excluded from this gonad, presumably due to the reduction in number of somatic gonadal precursors (SGPs). These 'lost' germ cells remain in an area ventral and posterior to the gonad until after coalescence.

trxunspecified suppresses the supernumerary type II neuroblast phenotype seen in ermunspecified type II neuroblast clones in the larval brain, and the number of GMCs and neurons is significantly increased in the double mutant clone.

trxunspecified suppresses the supernumerary type II neuroblast phenotype seen in bratunspecified type II neuroblast clones in the larval brain, and the number of GMCs and neurons is significantly increased in the double mutant clone.

trxunspecified pros17 double mutant type II neuroblast clones form supernumerary type I neuroblasts.

Expression of btdScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 using a Scer\GAL4 driver in trxunspecified type II neuroblast clones in the larval brain restores the ability of the type II neuroblasts to generate intermediate neural progenitors.

The wing defects caused by simultaneous expression of two copies of escdsRNA.Scer\UAS and escldsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 are completely suppressed by trxunspecified/+.

trxunspecified does not enhance the eye tumour phenotype of flies expressing DlScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH and also carrying the P{GSV1}lolaGS88A8 insertion (which results in the lolaGS88A8 and psqGS88A8 alleles being expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH).

The addition of heterozygous, trxunspecified to lolalk02512/+ animals shows enhancement or suppression.

The lethality caused by sevS11.T:Hsap\MYC in combination with Ras85DV12.sev is suppressed by trxunspecified.
