Time spent copulating is not increased in tim^UL mutant males held for 3 days in total darkness and mated to wild-type females, even though other behavioural rhythms of these flies are abnormal.

Homozygotes have a locomotion period of 32.8 +/- 0.2 hours. Heterozygotes have a locomotion period of 25.6 +/- 0.1 hours. The mutant flies show temperature compensation of the locomotion period.

tim^UL flies have a circadian periodic rhythm of about 33 hours. The mutation affects the late night part of the circadian cycle.

Heterozygotes show 26hr rhythms. When homozygous, tim^UL causes stable 33hr cycles.
