Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Many R2-R5 photoreceptor axons project abnormally through the lamina into the medulla layer in mutant larvae.

Homozygotes have split and elongated rhabdomeres.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The defects in photoreceptor cell projection patterns seen in larvae overexpressing msnEP549 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF are largely suppressed by one copy of bifR38.

The bifR38/Y phenotype is partially rescued by Amph26/+; fewer rhabdomeres are split and elongated.

bifR38/Y ; Df(2L)Prl/+ flies have rough eyes.
