Expression of wun^Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of both Scer\GAL4^twi.PG and Scer\GAL4^how-24B results in a reduction in germ cell number.

When expression is governed by Scer\GAL4^twi.PG, such that wun is expressed in the mesoderm, very few germ cells enter the mesoderm, remaining instead in the yolk.
