SceD1/+ ; brm2/+ flies can show minimal transformation of the third leg to second leg; the third leg can have an apical bristle but does not have sternopleural bristles (both characteristics of the wild-type second leg). SceD1/+ ; brm2 trx2/+ triple heterozygotes show transformations of third leg to second leg, having both apical and preapical bristles on the distal tibia of the third leg (which are characteristic of the wild-type second leg). The third leg may also have sternopleural bristles (characteristics of the wild-type second leg). Double heterozygotes with trxB11 or ash122 show T3 to T2 transformations. SceD1 enhances the z-w interaction.
Ectopic abd-A expression occurs throughout the A-P axis but cellular distribution within each segment is limited. Abd-B shows a graded expression at 9 hours along the A-P axis, more concentrated in the posterior. By 12 hours the expression is more uniform.
Shows no significant dominant suppression of the nos mutant phenotype.
