One copy of Psc1.d20 is unable to suppress position effect variegation (PEV) at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4.

One copy of Psc1.d20 moderately suppresses the telomeric position effect (TPE) in stocks carrying a variegating P{hsp26-pt-T}39C-5 insertion at the telomere of the left arm of chromosome two.

A significant change in repression of the wH19.UZA gene compared to offspring from the same cross carrying the balancer chromosome is observed in Psc1.d20 flies.

Can show a dominant suppression on telomeric Position Effect Variegation (PEV) in stocks carrying a variegating w+mW.hs allele at the telomeres of the second and third chromosomes. Has no effect on pericentric and fourth chromosome insertions.

Isolated on the basis of reverting the lethal interaction of Psc1 with Su(z)21. In a z1, wis/Y background, Psc1.d20 produces an orange eye color slightly darker than that of z1, wis/Y;+/+ males.

Embryonic lethal or semi-lethal when heterozygous with ph-d2. Unhatched larvae carry segmentation defects or polarity defects.

Reverts the lethal interaction of Psc1 and Su(z)21.
