Detailed Description

Mutants have unsegmented legs.

Homozygous larvae show complete fusion of denticle rows 3 and 4 in abdominal segments A2 to A8. The denticles in the fused row have no regular polarity and about half the larvae develop small denticles in this row.

Dominantly suppresses the ability of Src42ASu(phl)1-1 to suppress the lethality of phl1/Y flies.

Homozygous clones in the adult scutum have normal bristle structures. Homozygous clones induced in the sensory organ lineage have a similar phenotype to homozygous SerRX82 clones induced in the sensory organ lineage.

Heterozygotes with SerBd-3 appear phenotypically identical to SerBd-3 heterozygotes: loss of anterior wing margin material.

Homozygotes die at the late embryo/early larval stage and exhibit defects in head structures, particularly in the development of the mouth hooks.

Clones can cause extensive non-autonomous loss of wing tissue but only when the clone includes cells that abut the compartment boundary in the dorsal compartment. Dorsally or ventrally located clones that do not include the compartment boundary produce no distinct phenotype.

Homozygotes display a continuous and complex range of phenotypes, including nonretracted germ band, faintly stained denticles and dorsal hairs and cuticular holes. Examination of the nervous system also revealed a range of phenotypes including a disruption of the longitudinal and commissural axon tracts.

Heterozygous Serrev6-1 enhances the wing nicking phenotype seen in mamN.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4C96. The wing bristle phenotype seen in SerScer\UAS.cGa, Scer\GAL4C96 flies is mildly suppressed by the addition of mamN.Scer\UAS.

Enhances the Dfd13/Dfd3 phenotype; reduces the survival of Dfd13/Dfd3 hypomorphs.
