Deletion of an 855bp fragment which is shared by all three fuss transcripts (B, C and D). An attP site is introduced in the open reading frame of all fuss transcripts, which also results in a premature stop codon.

Bitter sensing is impaired in fussdelDS/fussdelDS, fussdelDS/fussMI13731 and fussdelDS.MI13731-GAL4/fussdelDS adults.

fussMI13731/fussdelDS adults have significantly less Gr33a-positive and Gr66a-positive neurons than controls.

fussdelDS/fussdelDS and fussdelDS/+ flies have a similar lifespan to controls.

fussdelDS/fussdelDS adults have a normal mushroom body morphology.
