Description

UASp regulatory sequences drive expression of full length slpr in which the kinase domain has been replaced with the kinase domain from Tak1. The chimeric protein consists of amino acids 1-128 of slpr, followed by amino acids 19-271 of Tak1 and 383-1148 of slpr. The construct is tagged at the C-terminal end with two copies of Tag:HA.

Expression of slpr::Tak1STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS further enhances the lethality associated with slprBS06 mutant males.

Expression of slpr::Tak1STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS partially rescues the dorsal closure phenotype seen in slpr921 mutant males. Some embryos exhibit head defects.

Expression of slpr::Tak1STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 does not suppress the reduction in eye size seen when egrGS9830 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Expression of slpr::Tak1STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 does not suppress the increased susceptibility to E.coli challenge seen in Tak12/Y males. Expression of slpr::Tak1STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 does not increase susceptibility of Tak12/+ females to E.coli.
