Description

UASp regulatory sequences drive expression of full length slpr in which the kinase domain has been replaced with the kinase domain from Tak1. The chimeric protein consists of amino acids 1-128 of slpr, followed by amino acids 19-271 of Tak1 and 383-1148 of slpr. The construct is tagged at the C-terminal end with two copies of Tag:HA.

Expression of slpr::Tak1^{STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1} under the control of Scer\GAL4^arm.PS further enhances the lethality associated with slpr^BS06 mutant males.

Expression of slpr::Tak1^{STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1} under the control of Scer\GAL4^arm.PS partially rescues the dorsal closure phenotype seen in slpr⁹²¹ mutant males. Some embryos exhibit head defects.

Expression of slpr::Tak1^{STK.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1} does not suppress the reduction in eye size seen when egr^GS9830 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF.
