A stop codon has been introduced at residue P142 in the CR3 domain of cv-2 exon four.
cv-2KO1 mutant flies are homozygous viable but significant lethality is seen at 18[o]C. Adult wings lack the posterior cross vein and sometimes the anterior cross vein and the tips of some longitudinal veins.
cv-2KO1 is rescued by Scer\GAL4A9/cv-2UAS.cSa
cv-2KO1 is not rescued by Scer\GAL4A9/cv-2N.UAS
Expression of one copy of cv-2Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 rescues the posterior crossvein defects seen in homozygous cv-2KO1 mutants.
Expression of cv-2Un.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 rescues the posterior crossvein defects seen in homozygous cv-2KO1 mutants.
Expression of one copy of cv-2N.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 fails to rescue the posterior crossvein defects seen in homozygous cv-2KO1 mutants.
