Detailed Description

Flies expressing one copy of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU have slightly larger eyes than normal, while flies expressing two copies of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU have a highly disorganised eye.

Expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in an increase in the number of interommatidial bristles without significantly affecting the number of pigment cells when assessed at 42% pupa development.

Expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU greatly suppresses the reduced eye size caused by WGMR.PG.

Expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU suppresses the reduced eye size caused by rprGMR.PH.

Co-expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU suppresses the increased number of apoptotic cells seen posterior to the second mitotic wave and in the posterior region of the eye disc in the zone of compensatory proliferation in eye discs expressing WGMR.PG.

Expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU suppresses the small eye phenotype caused by WAla5.GMR. Further suppression is seen if the flies are also heterozygous for either aosΔ7/+ or Gap1mip-w+/+.

Animals expressing AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU in a aosΔ7/+ or Gap1mip-w+/+ background show a 25% increase in pigment cell number when assessed at 42% pupa development.

Expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU suppresses the small eye phenotype caused by WAla5.GMR. Further suppression is seen if the flies are also co-expressing SH3PX1KK100618.

Co-expression of either Hsp26KK106347 or MagiGD10066 further reduces the size of the eye in a WAla5.GMR, AckScer\UAS.cSb, Scer\GAL4GMR.PU background.

Co-expression of drkKK109233 in a WAla5.GMR, AckScer\UAS.cSb, Scer\GAL4GMR.PU background results in flies with eyes that are greatly reduced in size.

Co-expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb and ykiScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a massively overgrown eye.Co-expression of AckScer\UAS.cSb and ykiScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a massively overgrown eye.
