The promoter and the first 286 codons of crm have been deleted through imperfect excision of the P-element inserted in P{EPgy2}crmEY05302.
crm32 mutant males display ectopic sex combs, both distally on the prothoracic leg and on more posterior legs. The number of ectopic sex combs is increased at 29[o]C compared to 18[o]C. Defects in abdominal dorsal fusion and wing margin are also seen but conversely these phenotypes are more prominent at 18[o]C than at higher temperatures.
crm32 suppresses the variegation caused by either w118E-10 or Df(4)ED6366.
crm32 has visible | adult stage | temperature conditional phenotype, enhanceable by Su(var)3-917
crm32 has visible | adult stage | temperature conditional phenotype, enhanceable by Pcl[+]/Pcl11
crm32 has visible | adult stage | temperature conditional phenotype, suppressible by Su(var)3-917
Df(4)ED6366, crm32 has visible | adult stage phenotype
crm32 has adult abdomen | temperature conditional phenotype, enhanceable by Su(var)3-917
crm32 has sex comb | increased number | temperature conditional phenotype, enhanceable by Pcl[+]/Pcl11
crm32 has sex comb | increased number | temperature conditional phenotype, suppressible by Su(var)3-917
Df(4)ED6366, crm32 has eye phenotype
Su(var)3-917 enhances the abdominal dorsal fusion defects seen in crm32 mutants; unlike in crm32 alone, dorsal fusion phenotypes are visible at 25[o]C. In contrast the crm32 ectopic sex comb phenotype is suppressed.
Homozygous crm32; Df(4)ED6366/+ mutants have a much darker and more uniform eye colour than in Df(4)ED6366 alone.
A Pcl11/+ background enhances the ectopic posterior sex comb phenotype seen in crm32 homozygotes.
