The expression of pntHMS01452 under the control of Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 leads to an increase in the number of type II neuroblasts, and to a decrease in mature intermediate neural progenitors per type II neuroblast lineages in the larval brain.

In air sac primordium tip clones expressing pntHMS01452 under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.B123, the mutant cells extend significantly fewer long oriented cytonemes than control clones.

Expression of pntHMS01452 under the control of Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 (in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency) results in a significant increase in the total number of type II neuroblasts, but a decrease in the number of Asense-negative neuroblasts, and complete elimination of intermediate neural precursors in third instar larval brains, as compared to controls.

Expression of pntHMS01452 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR9D11 leads to an increased number of type II neuroblasts, although this is dependent on the genomic location of the Scer\GAL4GMR9D11 allele.

Expression of pntHMS01452 under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 results in eggshells with a single wide dorsal appendage, instead of the two normally seen in wild type.
