Description

Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion, resulting in a 3268bp deletion which removes the entire CG14770 gene and part of the ssx gene (breakpoint is in exon 6), eliminating half of the ssx open reading frame (including the two RNA recognition motifs).

Statement
Reference

The weak dominant female-lethal effect of Sxlf1 is not enhanced by ssx55/ssx55.

Only 16% of ssx55 SxlM12/Y males have etching of one or more abdominal tergites 5 or 6.
