Mis-expression of mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 in the wing disc under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in a dramatic double-wing pouch disk. Most animals expressing mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 die during early pupal development, but culturing them at 18[o]C permits some to survive to pharate stages. Dissection of these animals from their pupal cases reveals transformations of scutellar tissue into ectopic wings.

Expression of mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 induces lethality.

Co-expression of mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 with NotumEPg31259 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 suppresses the lethality resulting from the expression of NotumEPg31259 alone.

Activation of NotumEPg31259 by using Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 significantly suppresses the notum-to_wing transformation and wing pouch duplication induced by mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2.

When expressed in the presence (or absence) of co-expressed mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 by using Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, AxnScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP induces embryo lethality.

Co-expression of AxnScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP with mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 partially suppresses the lethality induced by mir-315Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 expression.
