Expression of trxJF01557 results in: small (with Scer\GAL4ey.PH) or rough (with Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) eye phenotype, ectopic wing material at anterior crossvein and wings bent up at the ends (with Scer\GAL4nub.PK), pupal lethality at 25[o]C with the Scer\GAL4en.PU driver - at 18[o]C the flies show ectopic vein at posterior crossvein and haltere transformations. Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI-driven expression is lethal.

Somatic clones in the third instar larval wing disc expressing trxJF01557 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU display increased levels of cell death (visualized by an apoptotic marker, cleaved Casp3).
