Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Homozygotes die mainly during early larval stages. Survivors show a developmental delay and reduced growth rate. After 5 days, the largest mutant larvae are much smaller than controls. By 11 days, the surviving mutants that have pupated are also small.

In a wild type background, miΔEY22 clones in the wing imaginal disc are eliminated. miΔEY22 clones in a Minute background survive and cells accumulate in G2/M phase at the expense of cells in G1.

Cells from miΔEY22 wing imaginal discs are shifted towards G2/M phase at the expense of cells in G1 phase, compared to controls.

Homozygous imaginal wing discs are small with elevated levels of cell death.

miΔEY22 salivary gland cells are small with small nuclei.

mi1/miΔEY22 flies show a small bristle phenotype on the adult dorsal thorax.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Heterozygosity for either CycE5 or CycEAR95 suppresses the small bristle phenotype of mi1/miΔEY22 flies, whereas heterozygosity for cdc2c2 or cdc2c3 has no effect.

Many more miΔEY22 clones are recovered from imaginal wing discs in a CycEAR95/+ background than in a wild type background.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

miΔEY22 salivary gland cells remain small with small nuclei when BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.
