Overexpression of Sas-4 by approximately fivefold in wild-type wing disc cells (through expression of Sas-4Ubi.P.T:Avic\GFP) does not increase centriole length nor detectable centriole microtubule protrusions.

The overexpression of Sas-4Ubi.P.T:Avic\GFP does not cause centriole overduplication in spermatocytes or syncytial embryos.

Centrioles replicate normally in syncytial embryos expressing Sas-4Ubi.P.T:Avic\GFP. No extra centrioles are detected in the female germline, male germline or mitotic third larval instar brain cells in animals expressing Sas-4Ubi.P.T:Avic\GFP.

Expression of Sas-4Ubi.P.T:Avic\GFP does not result in de novo formation of centriole-like structures in unfertilised eggs (which do not normally contain centrioles).
