    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Arf51FEP2612/Arf51FNP5226 transheterozygotes are more sensitive (lower survival) to ethanol than heterozygotes or wild-type controls; Arf51FEP2612/Arf51FNP5226 transheterozygotes do not develop much tolerance from previous exposures.

Naive Arf51FEP2612/Arf51FNP5226 mutants show preference for ethanol-laced food, unlike the aversion normally observed in wild-type controls. Arf51FEP2612/Arf51FNP5226 mutants previously exposed to ethanol show the same preference for ethanol-laced food as wild-type controls.

Arf51FNP5226/Arf51FEP2612 flies are sensitive to ethanol-induced sedation compared to wild-type controls.

Arf51FNP5226/Arf51FEP2612 flies show a small but significant increase in sensitivity to sedation with CO[[2]] compared to wild type.

    Statement
    Reference

Arf51FNP5226/+ partially suppresses the resistance to ethanol-induced sedation seen in RhoGAP18B1 homozygotes.

RhoGAP18B1/+ ; Arf51FNP5226/+ double heterozygotes show wild-type sensitivity to ethanol in a sedation assay.

The sensitivity to ethanol-induced sedation seen in Arf51FNP5226/Arf51FEP2612 flies is not enhanced if they are also homozygous for Arfip12.

The sensitivity to ethanol-induced sedation seen in Arf51FNP5226/Arf51FEP2612 flies is enhanced if they also carry amnchpd.

    Comments

Expression of Arf51FScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Arf51F-NP5226 rescues the sensitivity of Arf51FNP5226/Arf51FEP2612 flies to ethanol-induced sedation. This rescue is suppressed in the presence of Scer\GAL80elav.PY.
