Expression of dcoWT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC (line 45F2B but not line 21M1C) under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PU significantly reduces the proportion of adult flies with arrhythmic circadian locomotor activity pattern compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4Act.PU or Scer\GAL4tim.PU-driven expression of dcoWT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC increases viability of UV-irradiated larvae and allows significantly higher proportion of them to pupate (although none actually eclose) compared to dcoC-ala.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Zzzz\His6-expressing larvae.

Scer\GAL4tim.Scer\UAS-mediated expression of dcoWT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC does not produce lethality or any obvious external defects.

Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI-mediated expression of dcoWT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC produces normal-looking flies, albeit at lower than expected Mendelian ratios.

Scer\GAL4tim.PE- or Scer\GAL4tim.Scer\UAS-mediated expression of dcoWT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC exhibit almost wild-type periods - there is a tendency for periods to be longer than controls, but at most by under an hour. Many flies show reduced rhythmicity compared to controls, but the reduction is variable over a wide range and may result from indirect effects.
