    Detailed Description

mwh6 or mwh1/mwh6 flies show a 'multiple hair cell' phenotype in the wing.

mwh6 animals have a multiple wing hair phenotype that is temperature sensitive; the mean number of hairs/cell is 1.25 at 21[o]C and 1.56 at 25[o]C.

mwh1/mwh6 animals have a multiple wing hair phenotype that is temperature sensitive; the mean number of hairs/cell is 1.83 at 21[o]C and 2.52 at 25[o]C.

Mutant flies raised at 18[o]C show only a weak mutant phenotype, whereas at 29[o]C they show a strong hypomorphic phenotype.

Heterozygosity significantly enhances the multiple hair cell phenotype of Scer\GAL4en.PU cmbScer\UAS.RA wings.

Homozygosity for cmbKO significantly suppresses the multiple hair cell phenotype of mwh6 and mwh1/mwh6 wings.

Expression of Rho1Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 weakly suppresses the mwh1/mwh6 multiple wing hair phenotype.

Low levels of expression of Rho1V14.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 at 25[o]C (the flies also carry Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B) partially suppress the mwh1/mwh6 multiple wing hair phenotype.

Expression of RhoGEF2Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 partially suppresses the mwh1/mwh6 multiple wing hair phenotype.

The mwh1/mwh6 multiple wing hair phenotype is dominantly enhanced by Rho1unspecified.

Expression of RhoGAPp190Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 enhances the mwh1/mwh6 multiple wing hair phenotype.

Expression of rokCAT.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 partially suppresses the mwh1/mwh6 multiple wing hair phenotype.

Expression of rokCAT-KG.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 does not suppress the mwh1/mwh6 multiple wing hair phenotype.
