Expression of mus209GD4205 under the control of Scer\GAL4c768 results in the gradual loss of neuroepithelium cells of the developing optic lobe during the early to late third larval instar stages and premature neuroblast formation.

Down-regulation of dup in the subperineurial glia, through expression of mus209GD4205 under the control of Scer\GAL4moody.PS inhibits DNA replication and reduces polyploidization in subperineurial glia and increases dye penetration around the neuropil and the neuroblasts, indicating increase porosity of the blood-brain barrier in these flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in loss of neuroblasts in the larval brain without any change in size of the remaining neuroblasts.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in shorter neuroblast lineages (less daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in mild defects in the shape of ganglion mother cells in the larval brain.
