UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The expression of aubGD11831 under the control of either Scer\GAL4c135 or Scer\GAL4nos.PU, but not of Scer\GAL4upd1.PU, leads to the formation of crystalline aggregates (of Stellate protein) in spermatocytes, which are absent in control spermatocytes.
Adults expressing aubGD11831 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
Scer\GAL4path-c135, aubGD11831 has spermatocyte | spermatogenesis phenotype, suppressible by Fmr1UAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4path-c135
Scer\GAL4nanos.PU, aubGD11831 has spermatocyte | spermatogenesis phenotype, non-suppressible by Fmr1UAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4nanos.PU
The formation of crystalline aggregates (of Stellate protein) in spermatocytes upon the expression of aubGD11831 under the control of Scer\GAL4c135 or Scer\GAL4nos.PU is fully suppressed by co-expressing Fmr1Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4c135, but not Scer\GAL4nos.PU.
