Expressing Hrb27CGD6964 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a reduced overall eye size, while expression under the control of Scer\GAL4mirr-DE leads to an almost complete ablation of the eye dorsal compartment in adults. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 causes a severe reduction of the wing disc posterior compartment in third instar larvae.

Somatic clones expressing Hrb27CGD6964 under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL in eye discs of third instar larvae display reduced cell proliferation (determined by EdU incorporation).

Expressing Hrb27CGD6964 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in increased cell death compared to controls in wing discs of third instar larvae, while expression under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 causes a reduction in cell density in the posterior compartment. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 has no effect on the size of the anterior-posterior compartment boundary of the wing disc.

Expression of Hrb27CGD6964 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU has no obvious effect on adult eye morphology, whereas expression driven by Scer\GAL4elav.PU is lethal.

Expression of Hrb27CGD6964 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 leads to a general decrease in mushroom body (MB) lobe volume, MB αβ lobe defects (asymmetric, shorter or missing lobes) and exhibit abnormal overextension of dorsal lobes when compared to controls. The proportion of MBs with axon overextension defects and the proportion of MBs with asymmetric or truncated α or β lobes are higher in females than in males.

Adults expressing Hrb27CGD6964 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of Hrb27CGD6964 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or partial lethality, depending on the particular P{GD6964} insertion line used.

Expression of Hrb27CGD6964 in the developing eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not affect eye development.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in extra bristles on the notum in 0% or 10-20% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 10-20% or 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 30-40% or 40-50% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 40-50% or 50-60% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum, depending on the insertion line used.

Animals expressing Hrb27CGD6964 (together with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency) under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU in either wild-type or TBPHΔ23/+; TBPHdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa background are lethal.

The eye degeneration phenotype (appearance of melanotic spots, fusion of ommatidia) characteristic for adult flies expressing TBPHScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU is strongly suppressed by co-expression of Hrb27CGD6964.

Expression of Hrb27CGD6964 in the developing eye dominantly suppresses the eye degeneration phenotype found upon expression of TER94R152H.Scer\UAS.R (with both transgenes driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF). This is concurrent with a significant reduction in the blinded phenotypic severity score.
