Expression of GATAeGD4152 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP6267 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression) leads to a thin midgut tube compared to wild-type and loss of esg-positive cells as well as defects in their morphology and position (cells are spherical rather than pyramidal, detached from the base membrane) in the adult posterior midgut. Somatic MARCM clones expressing GATAeGD4152 under the Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI driver fail to grow compared to controls.

Adults expressing GATAeGD4152 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.

Adults expressing GATAeGD4152 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in mild thorax closure defects.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in an enlarged notum, depending on the insertion line used.
