Expression of S6kIIK231R.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev leads to a smaller number of photoreceptor cells per ommatidium in the eye.

The roughened eye and increased rhabdomere phenotypes seen when either phlScer\UAS.F179 or Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev are suppressed when S6kIIK231R.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is coexpressed. Scer\GAL4hs.2sev>S6kIIK231R.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC expression also suppresses the increased photoreceptor cell phenotype seen in sevS11.T:Hsap\MYC flies.
