Expression of exexScer\UAS.cOa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 in the CNS of embryos causes a significant increase in the thickness of the SNb projections to ventral muscles, compared to wild-type embryos. There is also a clear decrease in the number of motoneuron projections to dorsal muscles, partially as a result of the stalling of the ISN in the ventral muscle field. exexScer\UAS.cOa expression causes many other general defects in the CNS, such as broken longitudinal connectives.
exexUAS.cOa/Scer\GAL4Vap.P0201 fails to rescue exexJJ154/exexKK30
Expression of exexScer\UAS.cOa from embryonic stage 16 onwards under the control of Scer\GAL4Vap.P0201 fails to rescue the apoptosis defects seen in exexKK30/exexJJ154 mutant anterior dMP2 neurons. Expressing exexScer\UAS.cOa from stage 10 under the control of Scer\GAL4odd-106 does rescue this apoptosis.
