Deficient or thin muscles are sometimes seen in the abdominal segments of larvae which are expressing twdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cIa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU.

Flies expressing Pomt2dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb have a viability of 63% at 28oC. Adult escapers expressing Pomt2dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb show a clockwise twisted abdomen phenotype (the phenotype is seen in both males and females). Flies expressing Pomt2dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb at 18oC have no aberrant phenotype.

The penetrance of the blistered wing phenotype caused by expression of DgdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E is significantly enhanced by co-expression of twdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cIa at 28[o]C.

At 18oC, flies expressing Pomt2dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb in a rtP/+ background show a clear twisted abdomen phenotype, in contrast to either single mutant (rtP/+ or flies expressing Pomt2dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb at 18oC in a wild-type background). Animals expressing both Pomt2dsRNA.Scer\UAS and rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb show complete lethality.
