When slik^Scer\UAS.cHa is driven by Scer\GAL4^ptc-559.1, overgrowth is seen in the region between wing veins 3 and 4, increasing the distance between these veins. When animals are grown at 18^oC, the area of this region increases by 13%, when grown at 25^oC the increase is only 5%. There is a considerable increase in BrdU incorporation compared to wild-type in the centre of the wing disc and in the peripodial cell layer overlying the wing disc in larvae expressing slik^Scer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4^ptc-559.1.

An increase in the number of cells with normal nuclear appearances are found in abnormal outgrowths below the epithelial layer of the wing disc. Adult escapers show overgrowth in the 1st posterior cell of the wing.
