UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a truncated form of Lar (composed of Lar amino acid residues 33-1406, an SL dipeptide (which does not interfere with Lar function) and Lar amino acid residues 1409-1470), lacking both phosphatase domains. The protein is tagged with Tag:SS(wg) and three copies of the Tag:HA at the N-terminus.
LarΔC.UAS.Tag:SS(wg),Tag:HA/Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 partially rescues Lar5.5/Lar2127
Scer\GAL4T155/LarΔC.UAS.Tag:SS(wg),Tag:HA fails to rescue LarC12/Lar2127
Scer\GAL4hs.2sev/LarΔC.UAS.Tag:SS(wg),Tag:HA fails to rescue Lar5.5/Lar2127
Expression of LarΔC.Scer\UAS.T:wg,T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4T155 fails to rescue the egg elongation phenotype observed in stage 14 oocytes from Lar2127/LarC12 mutants and indeed exacerbates the phenotype, with approximately 44% of the oocytes displaying a 'rounded phenotype', compared to approximately 30% in the Lar2127/LarC12 mutant.
Partially rescues the targeting defects of Lar5.5/Lar2127 R7 cell axons when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 but not when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev.
