Detailed Description

The adulthood-only expression of dppScer\UAS.T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP (using Gal80[ts] for the temporal regulation of expression) under the control of either Scer\GAL4esg.PU or Scer\GAL4Acp26Aa.PC leads to a significant increase in the size of secondary cell nuclei, but not of main cell nuclei, as compared to controls; the Scer\GAL4esg.PU-induced phenotype is cell autonomous.

Overexpression of dppScer\UAS.T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP in AB cells using Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 casues an increase in the size of the posterior compartment. Overexpression under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4, however, results in a reduction in the differences between anterior and posterior compartments in the haltere discs.

Expression of dppScer\UAS.T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in imaginal disc overgrowth.

Discs overexpressing dppScer\UAS.T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 in coroex11 or coroex6 homozygous or heterozygous mutants or coroex6/coroex11 transheterozygous mutants are much larger than wild-type discs expressing dppScer\UAS.T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1. In coroex6 homozygous mutants and coroex6/coroex11 mutants, a partial rescue of the actin cytoskeleton and apicobasal polarity is seen in wing discs overexpressing dppScer\UAS.T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1.

Comments

dppScer\UAS.T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP rescues the wing phenotype of dppd8/dppd12 flies when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1; wing size and pattern are almost normal except that ectopic vein material is seen near vein 3 and the spacing between veins 3 and 4 is slightly increased.
