Expression of CycAScer\UAS.Δ170 under the control of Scer\GAL4wor.PA results in mitotic catastrophe in larval neuroblasts, including multinucleation and drastically increased cell diameter. Some loss of neuroblasts is seen.
The expression of CycAScer\UAS.Δ170 when driven by Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 leads to an accumulation of cells in metaphase during mitosis 15. This metaphase arrest is transitory.

The addition of ruxhs.PT, induced by heatshock, is sufficient to overcome the transient metaphase arrest seen in CycAScer\UAS.Δ170,Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 embryos. The addition of rux3, prolongs the metaphase arrest phenotype seen in CycAScer\UAS.Δ170,Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 embryos.
