The expression of ruxhs.PT during G214 leads to a delay in M-phase 14, and then S phase 15. Consistent with these nuclei having passed through M-phase 14 they are the size of interphase 15 nuclei and exhibit normal ploidy.

Expression is wild type flies blocks mitosis.

The extra mitotic division phenotype seen in the egg chambers of encunspecified females at 25oC is partially suppressed by ruxhs.PT; only 25% of egg chambers contain 32 cells. This suppression of encunspecified by ruxhs.PT is not significantly altered if the females also carry CycAunspecified/+.

The addition of CycAScer\UAS.Δ170, induced by heatshock, is sufficient to overcome the metaphase block seen in CycAScer\UAS.Δ170,Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 embryos.

Suppresses the induction of mitosis seen in CycAhs.PK, cdc2AF.hs embryos.

CycAhs.PK flies exhibit ectopic S phase entry in the morphogenetic furrow, ruxhs.PT inhibits the ectopic S phase entry at the morphogenetic furrow but not in anterior or posterior cells. CycEhs.PR flies exhibit ectopic S phases in the eye disc, coexpression of ruxhs.PT fails to suppress this phenotype.
