UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a chimeric protein consisting of a deleted form of Chi (lacking the LIM interaction domain) fused to a deleted form of ap (lacking the LIM domain). The protein is tagged at the C-terminal end with 5 copies of Tag:MYC.

ap::ChiΔLID.ΔLIM.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4ap-md544 produces flies that have blistered wings in which the dorsal and ventral surfaces fail to fuse, and which are help upward and away from the thorax.

The loss of tarsal segment 4 in the legs of BScer\UAS.cKa; Scer\GAL4ap-md544 flies is partially suppressed by ap::ChiΔLID.ΔLIM.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC. ap::ChiΔLID.ΔLIM.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC; Scer\GAL4ap-md544 suppresses fusion of tarsal segments 4 and 5 in apUGO35/apmd544 flies.

The addition of SsdpL7 to ap::ChiΔLID.ΔLIM.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, Scer\GAL4ap-md544 animals suppresses the wing blistering phenotype seen in those animals though the wings remain held-up.

Rescues pathway recognition and axon fasciculation in a majority of segments in apmd544/apP44 embryos when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544. Rescues the axon defects seen in Chie5.5 embryos when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544. The axon defects seen in Chie5.5 apmd544/apP44 double mutants are completely rescued by ap::ChiΔLID.ΔLIM.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.

Partially suppresses the mutant wing phenotype of apmd544/apP44 flies when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.
