Temperature preferences of Plc21Ck31911 homozygous mutant late third instar larvae are unchanged compared to wild-type controls.

Plc21Ck31911 homozygotes and Plc21Ck31911/Df(2L)Pi3K21B-A transheterozygotes show decreased avoidance to CO2, as compared to heterozygous and wild-type controls; in agreement, both mutants show decreased electrophysiological responses of the basiconica rich region of the 3rd antennal segment to CO2 exposure, as compared to controls. These homozygotes do not exhibit changes in the number of ab1C neurons.

The electroantennograms of Plc21Ck31911/+ animals show a small but significant decrease in amplitude compared to controls in response to a number of odours (ethyl acetate, butanol, propionic acid, benzaldehyde and iso-amyl acetate).

The electroantennograms of Plc21Ck31911/Plc21CA and Plc21Ck31911/Plc21Ck31911 animals show a significant decrease in amplitude compared to controls in response to a number of odours (ethyl acetate, butanol, propionic acid, benzaldehyde and iso-amyl acetate).

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The electroantennograms of Gα49B221c/Plc21Ck31911 and Gα49B1370/Plc21Ck31911 double heterozygous animals show a significant decrease in amplitude compared to controls in response to a number of odours (ethyl acetate, butanol, propionic acid, benzaldehyde and iso-amyl acetate) and the reduction in the double heterozygotes is significantly greater than that expected to arise from a mere additive effect of the single heterozygous phenotypes.

The reduced viability, abnormal wing posture, flight behaviour defects and increased spontaneous firing at NMJs seen in Itp-r83Awc703/Itp-r83Awc361; Gα49B221c/+ are enhanced by Plc21Ck31911/+. These phenotypes are largely suppressed if Ca-P60AKum170/+ is also present.
