Description

The structure of the P-element in y^2sA3 is the same as in y^2s14 or y^2s20, but it is inserted in the opposite orientation; the direction of transcription of the P-element is in the same orientation as the direction of y transcription.

Insertion of a 1.2kb P-element 69bp upstream of the y transcription start site, together with deletion of y sequence from -146bp to -70bp. The P-element is internally deleted, containing 829bp of 5' sequence and 347bp of 3' sequence, with the filler sequence TAGCTACAAA in between. The P-element is transcribed in the same orientation as that of the y gene.

Body colour: y^TDH-1491/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 1 in the wing and 3 in the body (where 1 = absence of y expression and 5 = wild type). Body colour: y^TDH-1583/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 1 in the wing and 3-4 in the body. Body colour: y^TDH-1683/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 2 in the wing and 3-4 in the body. Body colour: y^TDH-1872/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 3 in the wing and 4 in the body. Body colour: y^TDH-1924/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 3 in the wing and 5 in the body. Body colour: y^TDH-2097/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 4-5 in the wing and 5 in the body. Body colour: y^TDH-641/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 1 in both the wing and body. Body colour: y^TDH-786/y^2sA3 flies have a pigmentation score of 1 in both the wing and body.
