Most of the kst2/kstB1-14.1 mutant larvae die as larvae.
Mutant embryos hatch, but mutant pupae are present at less than 10% of the expected number, suggesting that most individuals die as larvae. There seems to be little pupal lethality and kst mutants eclose 2-4 days behind their wild-type siblings. Adult escapers are very infertile and lay few eggs.
Homozygotes generally die as larvae. Surviving adults have defects in the eyes, wings and tracheal system.
kstB1-14.1/kst1 has lethal phenotype, enhanceable by crb11A22/crb[+]
kstB1-14.1/kst2 has lethal phenotype, enhanceable by crb11A22/crb[+]
kstB1-14.1/kst2 has lethal | larval stage phenotype, suppressible | partially by Pak[+]/Pak6
kst[+]/kstB1-14.1 is an enhancer of visible phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa, trioUAS.cBa
kst[+]/kstB1-14.1 is an enhancer of eye phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa, trioUAS.cBa
Heterozygosity for kstB1-14.1 significantly enhances the rough-eye phenotype induced by overexpression of trioScer\UAS.cBa via Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa.
kst2/kstB1-14.1 mutant larvae that are heterozygous for Pak6 survive longer than kst2/Df(3L)1226 controls.
