Detailed Description

A limited amount of neoplastic transformation is seen in slmb2 mutant wing disc clones.

slmb2 mutant neuroblast clones result in mushroom body γ neurons retain many larval axons at 24 hours after puparium formation that are pruned in wild type. In wandering third instar larvae the dorsal and medial axons are projected normally but the axon branches are less dense than in wild type.

9.9% of egg chambers with slmb2 germline clones show extra germ cells.

Homozygotes and slmb1/slmb2 transheterozygotes carrying a single copy of slmbαTub84B.PJ are viable and show normal morphology, 5-10% of adults exhibit duplication of the haltere. Mutant cells undergo only a few divisions and show phenotypes characteristic of ectopic wg and hh signal transduction. slmb1/slmb2 transheterozygotes are pupal lethal. Heterozygotes with Df(3R)e-R1 or slmb00295 die during early larval life.

lin19BG02329/+; slmb2 and CSN5L4032/+; slmb2 germline clones show enhanced phenotypes compared to slmb2 germline clones: the proportion of egg chambers with extra germ cells is increased and germaria are enlarged.

smo3; slmb1/slmb2 clones generate a supernumerary 'double-anterior' wing.
