Expression of CrebA^Scer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF results in eyes which are slightly rough with only minor alterations in the positions of individual ommatidia. Specification of the photoreceptors occurs normally in these animals. Expression of CrebA^Scer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4^ey.PH results in a mild rough eye phenotype. In addition, a small ectopic eye is present along the ventral margin of the eye. This ectopic eye is separated from the normal eye by a small zone of head cuticle.

Lethal early in development when expressed using Scer\GAL4¹²⁸, Scer\GAL4³²³, Scer\GAL4³⁵, Scer\GAL4^h-1J3, Scer\GAL4²⁰² or Scer\GAL4^32B.
