    Stage 15 dppunspecified embryos have 30-34 genital disc precursor cells, while wild type embryos have only 22 at this stage.

    Testes from males carrying temperature-sensitive dpp mutant alleles show displacement of the somatic hub and a reduction in the number of early germ cells. However, these effects are seen in both heterozygotes and homozygotes and at both permissive and restrictive temperatures, making it difficult to interpret their meaning.

    The hindgut is variable and severely deformed in mutant embryos, but hindgut boundary cell rows are still seen.

    Clones in the adult abdomen that are triply mutant for Pka-C1E95, wgl-17 and dppunspecified have the same phenotype as single mutant Pka-C1E95 clones.
