The myofibrillar and sarcomeric structures of the indirect flight muscle (IFM) of Mlc2E38 flies carrying Mlc2S66A appear normal. The flight index of these flies is significantly less than for Mlc2E38 flies carrying Mlc2+tTa (3.0 +/- 1.0). The wingbeat frequency of these flies is significantly less than for Mlc2E38 flies carrying Mlc2+tTa (177 +/- 3 s-1).

Indirect flight muscles appear normal.

Indirect flight muscles appear normal. Two copies of P{Mlc2S66A} restores viability to Mlc2E38 homozygotes.
