eye, with Scer\GAL4h-1J3
wing | distal, with Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1
Expression of scaScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 causes a loss of wing margin structure.
When scaScer\UAS.cEa is driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 loss of wing margin is seen.
Ommatidial clusters in the eye discs of scaScer\UAS.cEa; Scer\GAL4hs.2sev larvae, display an under-rotation defect, with many of them arresting rotation at 40o-45o. This defect is unaffected by scaunspecified/+.
When scaScer\UAS.cEa is driven by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237, causes a slightly disorganised bristle pattern, but there are no naked patches and bristles are fairly evenly spaced. The density of bristles is reduced compared to wild-type.
Expression of scaScer\UAS.cEa when driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 causes loss of wing margin structures where the dpp expression intersects the dorsal-ventral boundary. Higher doses of scaScer\UAS.cEa causes a more extensive phenotype.
Flies expressing scaScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 have nicked wings. This phenotype is still seen in a scaBP2 background. Flies expressing scaScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3 show expansion of wing veins into a "delta" shape.
Flies carrying Scer\GAL4h-1J3 show a rough eye phenotype. Ommatidia are oversized, irregularly spaced and fused. The cause of this phenotype is increased density of preclusters in the morphogenetic furrow.

When scaScer\UAS.cEa and Gp150Scer\UAS.cLa are driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, there is a loss of wing margin that is stronger than either scaScer\UAS.cEa or Gp150Scer\UAS.cLa on its own. When scaScer\UAS.cEa is driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 in a Gp1504/Gp1504 background, no wing margin loss is seen.
The under-rotation defect exhibited by the ommatidia in the eye discs of scaScer\UAS.cEa; Scer\GAL4hs.2sev larvae, is enhanced by nmounspecified/+, and partially suppressed by nmoc5-1.Scer\UAS.
Scer\GAL4sca-73-1/scaUAS.cEa partially rescues sca73-1/scaBP2
Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237/scaUAS.cEa fails to rescue scaBP2
Rescues the phenotype of scaBP2/sca73-1 flies when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-73-1; the eyes are less rough and the number of extra thoracic bristles is reduced, often producing the normal bristle pattern.
