Homozygous clones result in wing defects including vein expansion, blisters and necrotic regions.

Lethality acts post-embryonically. Produces malformed phenotype when in double heterozygosis with second site zip non-complementing mutants.

Embryos fail to complete dorsal closure as the mutant myosin fails to contribute sufficient myosin to drive dorsal closure to completion.
