Detailed Description

tubste/tubR5.6 and tub/tubR5.6 females produce embryos that span a phenotypic range from strongly dorsalised to wild type.

tub2/tubR5.6 females produce embryos that are severely dorsalised.

tub4/tubR5.6 females produce embryos that are either moderately or strongly dorsalised.

tub7/tubR5.6 and tub8/tubR5.6 females produce embryos that span a phenotypic range from severely dorsalised to wild type.

tub6/tubR5.6 and tub9/tubR5.6 females produce embryos that span a phenotypic range from severely to moderately dorsalised.

tubR5.6/Df(3R)XM3 larvae have significantly higher levels of muscle defects than wild-type larvae. Muscle fibre 8 is duplicated, and extra muscle fibres of undetermined identity in the neighbourhood of muscle fibres 4 and 5 are seen.

Embryos exhibit a cuticular phenotype.

Injection of tor::tubt4021t construct and pll::tort4021p construct into tubR5.6/Df(3R)XM3 embryos induces dorsoventral pattern elements.

Strongly dorsalised embryos, the phenotype of tubR5.6 Tl3t/tubR5.6 is also completely dorsalised.

Embryos derived from homozygous mothers gastrulate symmetrically and form hollow tubes of dorsalized larval cuticle. Homozygous pupae have a mean axial ratio of 2.5, whereas heterozygotes have a mean axial ratio of 3.0. Homozygotes carrying P{ptub462} have a mean axial ratio of 2.7.
