Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

The arista is almost completely absent in mutant flies.

In alice mutant flies, the arista is reduced to a vestige.

alice/alex flies are missing claws, the arista in the antenna and medial notum bristles.

All pretarsus structures in the leg and the arista are lost in alex/alice flies.

Homozygous legs lack claws.

The 5th tarsal segment is reduced and the claw is missing in the legs of alice/Df(2L)al flies. The sternopleural bristles are missing.

Phenotypically similar to al3 : the arista, tarsal claw and sternopleural bristles are absent, scutellum is reduced and the second wing vein is interrupted.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The leg and antennae phenotypes of C152; alice double mutants are indistinguishable from either single mutant.

The lethality of alice, Lim1R12.4 double mutants acts during the embryonic stages, whereas lethality of either allele alone acts at the pharate adult stage.
