Flies transheterozygous for sxc⁵ and sxc⁶ or sxc⁷ develop into pharate adults showing a typical sxc mutant phenotype.

sxc²/sxc⁵ flies are viable and fertile, but exhibit wing abnormalities suggestive of wing-to-haltere transformations.

Does not affect the position effect variegation (PEV) at the w locus caused by In(1)w^m4 or PEV at the B locus caused by Dp(1;Y)B^SCV.
