No lesions are apparent in the sxc coding region in sxc2 mutants, consistent with the sxc2 allele being associated with the T(2;3)sxc2 translocation and the production of full-length sxc protein from sxc2 mutants.
Flies transheterozygous for sxc2 and sxc1, sxc3, sxc4, sxc5, sxc6 or sxc7 are viable and fertile, but exhibit wing abnormalities suggestive of wing-to-haltere transformations.
