Detailed Description
Statement

ovoM1 allows stage 10 and later differentiation in oogenesis.

Increased amounts of cuticular hydrocarbons.

ovo, svb phenotype.

Permeable eggs.

Most of the egg chambers of homozygous females fail to proceed past early oogenesis, and less than 30% of the wild-type number of eggs are laid per day. Larvae have few denticle belt setae. Transheterozygotes with either ovoD2 or ovoD3 have germ cells resembling early spermatocytes.

Gene activity is reduced. Viable. Male germ line is fertile, female germ line has permeable eggs.

Eggs are laid.

Homozygous females lay eggs that fail to hatch.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The addition of otuhs.PN to ovoD1rv23/ovoM1 or ovoD1rv23/ovoM2 mothers leads to an increase in the number of eggs produced, though in no case is hatching observed.
