Homozygotes and hemizygotes do not survive at 29oC. The number and length of wing vein breaks remains roughly equal from 18oC to 25oC in homozygous flies.

Lethal in combination with Df(1)N-8 at 29oC. Homozygous lethal at 29oC (44% survive at 18oC). Wings show an abruptex phenotype in 100% of heterozygotes at both 18oC and 29oC. Homozygotes express the abruptex phenotype more extremely than heterozygotes at 18oC. 10% of NAx-59d/NAx-tsl flies survive and have an abruptex phenotype at 29oC. 50% of Nl1N-2/NAx-tsl flies survive at 29oC. Phenotypes seen include small eyes and head, an abruptex phenotype and fused legs. 29% of Nl1N-3/NAx-tsl flies survive at 29oC. Phenotypes seen include small eyes and head, an abruptex phenotype and stubby legs. 27% of Nl1N-69e/NAx-tsl flies survive at 29oC. Phenotypes seen include small eyes which are sometimes rough and an abruptex phenotype. 2% of NAx-tsl/Nl1N-ts1 flies survive at 29oC. Phenotypes seen include stubby legs and an abruptex phenotype. 40% of Nl1N-ts2/NAx-tsl flies survive at 29oC and have an abruptex phenotype. Lethal in combination with N55e11, N264-39, N264-40, N60g11, N69d5 or N69e2 at 29oC. Nl1N-ts1 and NAx-tsl show negative complementation at 18oC; Nl1N-ts1/NAx-tsl flies do not survive as well as either homozygote.

Ax phenotype 100% penetrant in heterozygotes at 18oC and 29oC; homozygous lethal at 29oC and semi-lethal at 18oC. Surviving homozygotes have a stronger Ax expression than in heterozygotes. Lethal with N mutants at 29oC and semi-lethal with NAx-59d. Ax in phenotype and complementary with recessive visibles at Notch at 18oC and noncomplementary at 29oC. On the genetic map of the Notch locus to the right of spl.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

NAx-tsl ; E(spl)1 double mutants show semi-lethality at 29oC. The number and length of wing vein breaks are rescued to wild type in NAx-tsl; E(spl)1 double mutants.
