Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Homozygotes and hemizygotes die during the larval and pupal stages and have small imaginal discs. Homozygotes sometimes give rise to pharate adults. Adult tissues derived from the imaginal discs are reduced and partially differentiated in these pharate adults, while the size of tissues derived from the histoblasts is normal. The eye portion of the third larval instar eye-antennal imaginal disc of sglSG9/sglA31 flies is smaller than normal.

sgl[+]/sglSG9 is an enhancer of adult phenotype of dsh4, dshw

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Dominantly enhances the weak phenotype of dsh4/Y flies carrying one copy of dshw, increasing the proportion of these flies that have defects in adult structures.

Comments

Homozygotes are generally completely rescued by sglUbi-p63E.PH, although some sglUbi-p63E.PH lines show partial rescue, producing flies with a bat shaped wing and wing margin and vein defects.
